Police Arrest Man Found on Roof of Rust Street Ministries

A man with known mental problems was discovered on the roof of Rust Street Ministries and led police on a foot chase through the neighborhood early Thursday morning, police said.

According to the San Angelo police at the scene, an employee of Rust Street Ministries discovered the man on the roof of the charity when arriving for work this morning and called police. Police arrived an attempted to verbally coach the man down off the roof, but the suspect didn’t budge.

Police called for a fire truck from the San Angelo Fire Department that deployed a ladder to get to the suspect. But before police could get on the roof, the suspect climbed down and off the roof away from the fire truck ladder. Police commenced a foot chase, eventually catching the suspect near Fort Concho Elementary School.
