A 29-year-old San Angelo man on probation for three counts of indecency with a child was put back in jail Tuesday for violating his probation for the second time this year.
Noe Ramon Montes Jr was sentenced to five years and month probation in October 2010 after pleading guilty to the three separate counts of indecency with a child sexual contact, a second-degree felony. Court records indicate that the offense was committed in May 2008 on a 12-year-old girl.
The state has filed to motions to revoke probation against Montes this year; the first was denied in April. The second violation report was filed in September. Because he was sentenced to deferred adjudication probation, if Montes is convicted this time he could face the full punishment range for his charges, which is two to 20 years in prison. While on probation he has been required to register as a sex offender.
Montes posted at $20,000 bond with Clear Choice Bail Bonds on Tuesday and was released from the jail.
In addition to Montes, 31 others were booked into the county jail on Tuesday, while 35 were released.
