The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office has released further information on a major drug bust made on Sept. 18, which landed four indviduals behind bars.
According to a press release issued by the department, the SO Tactical Team and DPS agents executed a raid at 421 E. 24th St. at approximately 7 p.m. Friday. During that raid, law enforcement located and seized some 856.8 grams (1.89 pounds) of methamphetamine.
The drugs, according to TxDPS statistical data, is worth an approximate $163,648 at street value. A loaded 9 mm handgun, bulletproof vest and various packing materials and paraphernalia were located during the search.
Eric Escobedo 31, John Escobedo, 28, Chad Guzman, 30, and Rhonda McClellan, 22, were arrested in relation to the drug charges. McClellan and John Escobedo were taken into custody during a traffic stop on Irving St. while officers executed the raid.
“I appreciate the hard work of our investigative team in making an impact on the local narcotics trafficking with this significant seizure and arrest,” Sheriff David Jones said. “The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the San Angelo Police Department.”
