Violence Marks Thursday Arrests

Jail bookings soared on Thursday up to 34 inmates, many of whom were charged with offenses alleged to have been committed within the last 24 hours. 

Of those, four were charged with assault, three were charged with possession, and two apiece were charged with DWI and PI. 

A 39-year-old womna, Mary Chavarin Mireles, was jailed at 5:21 p.m. by deputies of the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office for injury to a child/elderly/disabled person. 

Twenty-four inmates were released on Thursday.
