Assaults Spike on Holiday Weekend

 

Drugs, alcohol and physical violence were the top contenders for charges leading the Tom Green County Jail's inmate booking reports through Labor Day weekend.

Out of the 106 put behind bars, 10 were charged with assault, 10 were charged with public intoxication, and eight apiece were charged with possession and marijuana. Only five were booked for DWI.

On Friday, 21 were booked and 27 were released.

On Saturday, 28 were booked and 13 were released.

On Sunday, 36 were booked and 27 were released.

On Monday, 21 were booked and 23 were released.
