Man Slapped with Felony After Setting Fire to Girlfriend's Stuff

A 34-year-old San Angelo man was arrested early Friday morning after igniting some of his partner's personal belongings under a carport.

According to San Angelo Fire Marshal Ross Coleman, San Angelo Police had been dispatched to the residence of Christopher Edward Noland earlier Thursday night for a domestic disturbance. Early the following morning, police and firemen were again dispatched to the 1900 block of Live Oak, when a tenant in a rent house called in the fire.

Noland was arrested at the scene and transported to the county jail, where he was booked on one count of arson with intent to damage a habitation.

No one was injured in the fiery display, nor did the blaze spread to the building.

Arson with intent to damage a habitation is a first-degree felony, punishable by five to 99 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
