Accused Rapist Arrested in Brady

 

A San Angelo teen accused of sexually assaulting his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend on May 30 has been picked up on a warrant in Brady.

Austin Ray Carpenter, 18, was in a vehicle with three other individuals on Monday night, when a McCulloch County Sheriff's Deputy intitiated a traffic stop and learned that Carpenter was wanted on a warrant for sexual assault of a child.

Carpenter was taken into custody and booked into the McCulloch County Jail. He is being held there pending arraignment, with a bond that will be set at $75,000. If he does not make bond, he will be transferred to Tom Green County. 

Carpenter's alleged accomplice, 22-year-old Angel Hernandez, was arrested on Saturday for the same offense.
