San Angelo Police Service Dogs Love Local Elk

San Angelo Police Chief Tim Vasquez and members of the Department’s K9 Unit received a $2,000 check from the San Angelo Elks Lodge last night.

The check, presented by Elks Vice President, Mike Bryan, was raised during a prime rib dinner and silent auction held this past March. Members of the Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association worked with the Elks to organize this annual fundraiser.

The money will be used to help fund various K9 Unit expenses such as training, shelter, food, equipment, and veterinary care.

Longtime supporters of the K9 Unit, the Elks are also gearing up to assist with another upcoming K9 fundraiser, “Krazy 4 K-9z”, slated for June 13 at Kirby Park, 1401 Edmund Blvd.  For more information about this upcoming event, visit http://bit.ly/SAPDKrazy4K-9z.
