Drug and marijuana possession were the leading causes for arrest and detention over the weekend, accounting 19 total inmates booked between Friday and Sunday that were caught red-handed rather than picked up on warrants.
The majority of those individuals were arrested on Friday, including six jailed for marijuana possession, three for possession of a controlled substance and two for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance. An additional two individuals were charged with public intoxication and one person apiece was booked for DWI, fleeing from a police officer, evading arrest and assault were also jailed on Friday.
In total, 44 people were put behind bars on May 15, the vast majority of which were jailed on warrants. Forty-eight individuals were released on Friday.
On Saturday, drug possession barely eclipsed other charges, when three of 24 booked into the county jail were charged with possession of a controlled substance. In addition, two apiece were jailed for marijuana, public intoxication and assault, while one perons apice was jailed for resisting arrest, terroristic threats and DWI. Twenty-eight individuals were released on Saturday.
Sunday traffic in and out of the jail slowed to a trickle when 21 were booked into and 21 were released from the facility. Three of those jailed were charged with DWI, two were booked for public intoxication, one was booked for assault and one was booked for marijuana possession. The remainder were booked on warrants.
