The 26-year-old suspect in two armed robberies has been apprehended after police staked out several locations he's known to frequent.
Evidence located at the scene of the robberies at Allsup’s, 514 N. Main, and Best Value Inn, 1601 S Bryant, and other information led to identifying Daniel Zurita as the suspect in the offenses. Yesterday, members of CID, Special Operations, SWAT, K9, and patrol conducted surveillance at various locations throughout the city where Zurita is known to frequent.
At approximately 5 p.m. yesterday, Zurita was located in the 1700 block of Magdalen. Zurita was taken into custody without incident.
Zurita was transported to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with aggravated robbery. Zurita also had outstanding warrants.

"Zurita also had outstanding warrants. " These types of stories are so frustrating! If the police would put the effort into apprehending those with outstanding warrants, there would ultimately be less crime and fewer victims being subjected to the likes of this offender. If you have the manpower to stake out multiple locations AFTER he has committed 2 very serious offenses, why can't you find him BEFORE he reoffends???

PermalinkLooks like Daniel has been a very busy (and non-productive) member of our society since as far back as 2005. He's now in his 10th year of constant criminal wrongdoings and you choose to put in the effort to apprehend him now? Wow!
