Police Investigate Two Robberies

 

Police are investigating the robberies of a local motel and a convenience store that were hit on different days between May 8 and May 11, one of which involved a gun.

The first robbery occurred at approximately 2:46 a.m. on Friday, May 8, at Allsup’s located at 514 N Main. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s about 5’10”, 150 pounds, with short hair.

A second robbery occurred on May 11 at approximately 12:43 a.m. when police responded to 1601 S Bryant at the Best Value Inn.  Upon arrival, police learned that the suspect had already left the scene.

Officers made contact with the clerk working the front desk. The clerk stated a Hispanic male with a shaved head and wearing a dark colored polo shirt stated he wanted to get a room.  While the clerk was busy, the male suspect exhibited a handgun and demanded money from the cash register.  The male suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash and got into a dark colored passenger car.

It is unknown at this time if this robbery is related to the robbery that occurred on May 8, at the Allsup’s located at 514 N. Main.
