Domestic Violence Incident Turns into a Stand-Off With Police

A domestic dispute turned ugly this morning at 11:29 a.m. when San Angelo police were dispatched to the 3300 block of Ridgemar Street. At the location, police found a 31-year-old female victim with visible signs of an assault. She said her husband Fabian Ortiz had hurt her.

Down the street, officers spotted Ortiz jumping into a car and approached him. As officers approached the car, Ortiz yelled at the police, saying that he had a gun. He then rolled up his windows as officers took cover.

A short standoff ensued, and his wife and police contacted Ortiz via cell phone. He eventually gave up.

Upon inspection of Ortiz’s person and the car, no sign of a gun or handgun was found.

Ortiz was booked into the Tom Green County Jail. Police are still determining the charges, although SAPD Public Information Officer Cade Solsbery said that one of the charges would involve domestic violence.

Smacking your wife does not solve the problem you may be experiencing. I'm sorry for Mrs. Ortiz. Ma'am, you do not have to tolerate such BS. Get a restraining order and require the bully to stay away. Hitting someone for reasons other than mutual pleasure are just wrong.

Get out now Mrs. Ortiz. The only way things will change is for the worse if you stay. Do not waste any more years of your life. There is someone out there that will love and cherish you. He will eventually go on to find someone else to beat after the honeymoon period. If you already have children with him do not return because you want to keep the family intact. They will only learn that domestic violence is their normal way of life and will accept that into adulthood. If you don't have children with him, DO NOT MAKE THAT MISTAKE.
