A 19-year-old man on probation for sexual assault of a child was picked up on a warrant on Monday and put behind bars by officers of the SAPD.
Nigel Parker has been on community supervision since entering a plea bargain on Nov. 3 last year, when he was sentenced to serve six years deferred adjudication probation. On Jan. 30, a motion to revoke Parker's probation was filed with Judge Woodward's 119th District Court, and on Feb. 2 a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Parker was jailed on Monday evening at 5:38 p.m. and is being held in lieu of a $100,000 surety bond.
In total, 29 inmates were booked into the county jail on Monday, seven of which were accused of committing offenses that occurred within the last 24 hours.
Of those, one man was jailed each on a charge of assault, DWI and marijuana possession. Five women were put behind bars on Monday, all on warrants.
Some of the warrant arrests include two for assault, one for theft and one man charged with three counts of DWI with a child under 15 years old.
Twenty-eight inmates were released on Monday.

Why wouldn't he be held pending a revocation hearing or just sent to the big house to do his 6 years?
