Law Enforcement Jails 97 over Weekend

 

The final weekend of Spring Break was a busy one for law enforcement offiicers, who between Friday and Sunday put a total of 97 people behind bars.

The overwhelming majority of those jailed were booked on warrants and commitments, however of those picked up for offenses alleged to have been committed over the weekend, alcohol-related charges accounted for the most, including seven DWIs, nine people charged with public intoxication and one minor in consumption of alcohol.

Theft ranked second with seven jailed over the weekend plus one burglary of a habitation, and two were jailed for assault, while one was jailed for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Michelle Perez was booked again on Friday for criminal trespass. She was released the same day.

In total, 79 individuals were released from the jail over the weekend.
