DPS Rescues Six Children from Amarillo Motel

 

AMARILLO – A Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigation led to the recovery of six juveniles believed to be victims of human trafficking.

The investigation, led by DPS Criminal Investigations Division (CID) special agents, was the result of information received from the Child Protective and Regulatory services of Amarillo relating to an open case they were working.

During the investigation, CID agents made contact with six juveniles who were living in a local motel. One juvenile was placed in the Youth Center of the High Plains while the other five were reunited with family. This investigation will continue.

Four suspects were arrested on outstanding warrants unrelated to the investigation.
