Couple Jailed for Public Display of Too Much Affection

A mature couple enjoying each other's company on Tuesday morning got into some trouble when their public display of affection got a little too intimate.

The 43-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman, who are alleged to have been having sex in the backseat of a car, had their activities cut short in the 4700 block of Ben Ficklin Road, when an officer pulled up and took them both into custody for public lewdness. Both are being held in lieu of a $500 surety bond.

A total of 43 individuals were jailed on Monday, 23 of which were accused of committing offenses within the last 24 hours.

The majority of those jailed were booked on drug offenses, including seven charged with drug possession, six charged with marijuana possession and one charged with possession of a dangerous drug. Two were jailed for driving while intoxicated.

Twenty individuals were jailed on warrants Monday, including those for robbery, theft and drugs, among various other offenses. 

Thirty-one individuals were released on Monday.
