Alcohol and Assault Lead to Sunday Jail Bookings

 

Three drunk drivers were jailed over the weekend, beginning on Sunday morning at just after midnight with 49-year-old Marvin V. Butler, Jr., who was picked up on his third or more driving while intoxicated charge. Butler was joined by 26-year-old Michael Ray Adame roughly an hour later, who was charged with driving while intoxicated, and on Monday morning at 2:08 a.m., 21-year-old Ricky Lynn Anderson was booked for his first DWI. He turned 21 on Jan. 27.

Sunday was a fairly busy day in th jail, when a total of 31 inmates were booked. Twenty-six of those jailed on Sunday were booked on charges pertaining to offenses alleged to have been committed that day, although several of those jailed for current offenses also had warrants, some of which were out-of-county.

Marijuana possession and public intoxication were Sunday's top charges, each accounting for five counts apiece. Most of those jailed for marijuana possession were also charged with something else. Possession of a controlled substance and assault ranked second on Sunday at four charges apiece, followed by the three DWIs and one charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a public servant

Twenty-five inmates were released on Sunday.
