DEL RIO - U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, at the Del Rio International Bridge recently discovered nearly $322,000 worth of marijuana concealed within a shipment of Saltillo tile coming from Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico.
“Our officers demonstrate the highest standard of vigilance by disrupting the flow of illicit narcotics into our country and keeping it off the streets of our community,” said Port Director Alberto D. Perez, Del Rio Port of Entry.
On Jan. 28, CBP officers working at the Del Rio Port of Entry Commercial Import Lot referred a 1995 Peterbilt tractor towing a flatbed trailer loaded with a shipment of tile for a secondary examination. In secondary, officers discovered 128 large bundles of marijuana, hidden in the boxes of tile, weighing a total 1,606 pounds.
CBP OFO seized the narcotics along with the tiles. The ongoing investigation into the narcotics shipment is being conducted by Homeland Security Investigations special agents.
CBP’s Del Rio Port of Entry is part of the South Texas Campaign, which leverages federal, state and local resources to combat transnational criminal organizations.

Although that's a good lick, that recovery is just the equivalent of a single grain of sand in a bucket full of sand as to what did make its way over here undetected..... The war on drugs holds about as much truth as when Obama opens his mouth and spits words out. There's way too much money going under the table to too many big shots in this country to ever do anything about the drug trade....
