On the heels of 24-year-old Michael McMeekin, who was put behind bars just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday for reckless driving, A 30-year-old San Angelo man was booked into the county jail on the same charge at 7 p.m., following a vehicle pursuit and car crash.
Andrew Cruz, who was involved in a high-speed chase through part of San Angelo Wednesday, was ultimately booked into the jail on six charges, including evading arrest in a vehicle, evading arrest, possession of methamphetamine and reckless driving. The final two charges were warrants.
Cruz and McMeeking were joined in the county jail by 13 others on Wednesday, among them Cruz's passenger, 33-year-old Maximino Rosales, who was booked on a warrant, and an out-of-state fugitive, Christopher Burns, who racked up a number of charges in San Angelo yesterday.
In total, there were three pot charges on Wednesday's bookings report, three assault charges, three evading arrest charges, two theft charges, two reckless driving charges and two possession charges.
Twenty-one inmates were released from jail on Wednesday.
