San Angelo Man Jailed on Four Felonies After Road Rage Shooting

Levi Todd Turner, 24, was put behind bars on Tuesday after firing a gun at a driver in a fit of road rage on Ave. N.

San Angelo police responded to the location around 9 p.m., where the victim explained that she had honked at a white male eratically driving a blue 2002 Mercury sedan down Ave N, who had cut her off and narrowly missed hitting her vehicle.

After the woman honked her horn, the suspect, Levi Turner, pulled up next to her vehicle and fired a single round from a handgun that hit the woman's driver side door.

No one was injured fron the gunshot, however the the woman, her husband and her children were all in the vehicle at the time of the gunfire.

Witnesses to the incident provided police with the suspect description and license plate number for the vehicle, which was located a short time later by K9 Officer Fincher in the 1800 block of N. Bryant Blvd.

Fincher pulled Turner over and at the time of the stop noticed a bag of suspected marijuana on the driver's side floor board. In a subsequent search, Fincher located approximately 12 ounces of marijuana and a .22 caliber handgun located under the driver’s seat.   Turner was also found to be in possession of approximately seven grams of cocaine.

Detective Lynn Dye was called to the scene and conducted the investigation.  Turner was subsequently charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.  Turner was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.

Turner is currently being held without bond for the charges. The possession charge has been dismissed, jail records indicate, however he now has a manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance charge.

if this kid did this to ME in traffic IN TOWN, I would run his sorry ass off the road on purpose. *I* have insurance and practically drive a tank that's a few thousand pounds of lethal weapon, so I don't need a pansy gun to fix his little wagon. I'd have sideswiped him and called 911 ON THE SPOT. Punk kid. He needed to smoke that weed already to come down from whatever he was taking causing the rage. Because the "devil marijuana" does NOT cause that behavior.

He is a grown man at 24 years old. Misguided is no excuse. He chose on his own to pull that gun and fire it. As well as his 'erratic' driving that started it all.
