The Five Happiest Inmates to be Jailed in 2014

Thousands of inmates walked into the doors of the county jail over the past year, the vast majority of which were less than happy to be there.

But despite the dreary walls, monotonous jumpsuits and lack of daylight, a handful of inmates didn’t appear all too upset about being booked into the jail, some grinning, smiling or bearing teeth in the booking photos like it was senior year in high school.

Of all those we’ve seen over the year, here are the top five, happiest mugshots of 2014 from Tom Green County.

So grab a seat and let's get started with the The Five Happiest Inmates to be Jailed in 2014:

#5 Daniel Lara

Daniel Lara, 50, has been in and out of the jail over 30 times since 1993. On the day this mugshot was taken, Lara had been booked into the county jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. It wasn’t his first felony charge, either. Lara’s criminal record reflects over a dozen misdemeanor and felony offenses.

#4 Jeremiah Sosa

Jeremiah Sosa, 20, missed his high school graduation ceremony this year when he and an accomplice were jailed for graffiti on the Central High campus. When he was picked up, police also located meth on the former student, and he was charged with graffiti and possession, both state jail felonies. This photo was taken after his arrest on May 29.

#3 Arsenio Carter

Arsenio Carter, 25, has been arrested on a litany of theft, evading and assault charges since 2006. When he smiled for this mugshot he had just been jailed for criminal trespass.

#2 Sharon Spray

Sharon Spray had been court-ordered to a correctional facility when she disappeared and was ultimately caught and jailed on Nov. 12. When this mugshot was captured she had been charged with both unlawful absence from a correctional facility and manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

#1 Jimmy Perez

Jimmy Perez, 33, faces a first-degree felony charge for aggravated kidnapping, which could land him in jail for a period between 5 and 99 years. Despite the dim prospects given a lengthy criminal record, Perez appears to be the jolliest inmate of the year to have entered the county facilities.
