Mitsubishi Galant Driver Crashes Through the Front of Stripe's Convenience Store and Flees Scene

At approximately 6:45 p.m., a female driver crashed her gold Mitsubishi Galant into the Stripe's Convenience Store on the east side of S. Bryant at Ave. N.

Store clerks inside said that the female may have been "on drugs," but we could not independently confirm their observation.

After crashing through one of the main windows of the store, the driver sped off, heading east on Ave. N, then south on S. Chadbourne. San Angelo Police weren't far behind, and the driver crashed into a powerline pole at across the street from the original Julio's Burrito Restaurant.

Damage to the Galant was significant and both airbags had deployed. The female suspect was not at the scene. Police had either booked her, or an ambulance transported her to the hospital. The car had New York license plates.

We will provide a final report once police have finished their investigation.
