Thief Arrested on Property After Being Notified Police Were Underway

A thief attempting to burglarize a vehicle Wednesday was caught in the act when a witness noticed the dome light on inside the vehicle. The witness then relayed the information to the vehicle's owner, who went to the parking lot of his apartment at 1426 Western Court to check on his car.

Upon arriving at the vehicle, the victim confronted the suspect, 21-year-old Tony Moses, and informed him he was calling the police, an SAPD press release states.

Dispatch sent officers to the scene, notifying them that a burglary was in progress and that the suspect was still there.

According to the press release, officers were promptly guided to the suspect upon arrival. Apparently, Moses had either chosen not to flee after having been told by the victim that the police were being called, or attempted to do so unsuccessfully.

Tony Moses (04-28-1992) was arrested for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
