A Midlander with local ties was arrested in San Angelo on Monday, after a broadcast from the Midland Police Department sent SAPD K9 Officer J. Fincher on the search for 31-year-old Chancee Neatherlin in a stolen Chevy Camaro at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Officer Fincher was able to locate and stop the vehicle in the 2300 block of Sherwood Way, and along with K9 Sergeant D. Egger and Officer B. Spencer, took the occupants of the Camaro into custody without incident.
The driver, identified as 41-year-old Armando Ruiz, had 17 outstanding city warrants in San Angelo. Upon a search of the vehicle, approximately $600 in cash was found in the front passenger area. Also located in the vehicle were a digital scale, a glass pipe, and several bags commonly used for illegal narcotics.
Officer P. Massey conducted a physical search of Neatherlin and located a syringe in her coat.
Both Ruiz and Neatherlin were transported to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ruiz was also booked for the 17 city warrants.
