TRAFFIC ALERT: Crash Snarls Traffic on Highway 87 Near Grape Creek

SAN ANGELO, TX — A three-vehicle crash on northbound U.S. Highway 87 near Grape Creek Road is causing traffic delays late Monday afternoon, according to an alert from the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies issued a Nixle alert at 4:48 p.m. advising drivers to avoid the southbound lane on North Highway 87 due to the crash. Photos from the scene show long backups extending along the highway. 

Video from the scene shows a Jeep and two other vehicles involved in the crash with airbags deployed in all of the vehicles. It's unclear if anyone was taken to the hospital. 

Drivers traveling through the Grape Creek area should expect delays and use alternate routes if possible.
