VIDEO: Driver Hospitalized After Jaws of Life Used in Crash on Knickerbocker

SAN ANGELO, TX — A driver was hospitalized Saturday evening following a T-bone crash that shut down northbound lanes of Knickerbocker Road at Hillside Drive, near the KOA hiking trail.

It happened around 8:15 p.m., and police said that a white pickup was headed east on Hillside Drive when it failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with a red Ford F-150. The impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles, which are expected to be totaled.

First responders used the Jaws of Life to extricate the driver of the white pickup, who was transported with incapacitating injuries. Police said the driver is expected to recover.

Firefighters, police, and EMS responded to the scene. An ambulance left with lights and sirens, and traffic was diverted as crews worked to clear the roadway.
