VIDEO: Off-Duty Firefighter Rescues Woman from Burning Truck After Fiery Crash

MESA, AZ — An off-duty firefighter pulled a woman from a burning truck after a seven-vehicle crash on U.S. 60 Tuesday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. near Val Vista Drive when a cement mixer rear-ended a pickup truck that had slowed for traffic, causing the truck to catch fire.

A Chandler Police Department officer arrived on scene and broke the truck’s window, allowing the off-duty firefighter to pull the woman to safety before flames overtook the vehicle. She suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital.
