San Angelo Fire Chief Describes Second Blaze That Destroyed EZ Pawn

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The EZ Pawn building at 2018 S. Bryant Blvd. was destroyed overnight following a devastating fire Tuesday evening.

The San Angelo Fire Department was able to contain the flames in the early evening hours until firefighters came across a hidden void in the building that unmasked more oxygen leading to an increased amount of flames and another fire.

According to Assistant Fire Chief Todd Sanford Wednesday morning, firefighters called in a city of San Angelo excavator overnight to bring down walls on the front corner of the building to put out hot spots.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined and remains under investigation.
