SAN ANGELO, TX — A driver in San Angelo ran a red light this Monday morning, causing a crash that sent at least two people to the hospital, the police said.
It happened at the intersection of South Oakes Street and East Beauregard Avenue at about 9 a.m.
A blue Chevrolet collided with a red Hyundai Tucson after the Chevrolet’s driver disregarded a red light, according to the San Angelo Police Department.
The Hyundai was traveling northbound on Oakes Street when it was struck by the Chevrolet, which was traveling eastbound on Beauregard, witnesses told police. The Chevrolet’s driver was issued a citation for running the red light.
The Chevrolet had one occupant, a woman who was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. The Hyundai Tucson had three occupants.
The adult driver was to be transported to a hospital. It was unknown whether the two minor children riding in the back seat would also be transported.
