Car Hauler One of Two Fires That Shut Down I-20 Over Weekend in Midland

MIDLAND, TX — A car hauler caught fire on Interstate 20 Sunday morning, shutting down all westbound lanes at County Road 1290 and causing major traffic disruptions, the Midland Fire Department and local media reported.

The blaze was one of two separate vehicle fires on the interstate over the weekend. The department responded to the car hauler fire on May 10.

Two days earlier, on May 8, a tanker truck caught fire on I-20. That incident also occurred on Friday evening and prompted a fire department response.

The department did not confirm any injuries from either fire.
