1 Person Taken to Hospital After Crash on US 87

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — One person was taken to the hospital after their vehicle left the road Friday afternoon on US Highway 87 on the outskirts of San Angelo.

The crash occurred about 3 p.m. near the intersection of South US 87 and Lake Drive when a car drove off the road for an unknown reason, through a metal guard rail and into a ditch.

A traffic officer with the San Angelo Police Department said the motorist’s injuries weren’t believed to be serious.

The vehicle had to be extracted by Home Motors out of some brush about 50 feet off the side of the road.

The speed limit is 65 miles per hour on that stretch of road, which is near the city limits in north San Angelo.
