Crash Adds to Dangerous Record at US 87 and FM 2105

SAN ANGELO, TX — A red Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed Thursday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. Highway 87 North and FM 2105, once again slowing traffic at one of Tom Green County’s most accident-prone crossroads.

For a time, only one northbound lane of Highway 87 was open to through traffic, while Side View Road allowed access to FM 2105, according to the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office. By 5:23 p.m., authorities confirmed that all roadways at the intersection were reopened.

Emergency crews and tow services responded to clear the Jeep and debris from the roadway. Law enforcement directed traffic as vehicles backed up in the northbound lanes. No information has yet been released on possible injuries.

The intersection of Highway 87 and FM 2105 has a long history of serious crashes. We reported in 2024 that over the past four years, officials have documented more than 40 crashes with injuries at the crossing.
