SAN ANGELO, TX — A driver who thought Sherwood Way was a one-way street caused a three-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon that resulted in two people being taken to the hospital.
The crash occurred about 2 p.m. at the intersection of Summer Crest Drive and Sherwood Way.
According to a traffic officer with the San Angelo Police Department, a white Ford F-150 was at a stop sign on Summer Crest when it failed to yield the right of way and pulled out in front of two other vehicles.
The officer stated the driver only looked one way, because she mistakenly thought Sherwood Way was a one-way street.
Her pickup truck t-boned a black Nissan Titan, and a silver Chevy Equinox was also caught up in the crash.
All three vehicles left the roadway, and a stop sign was flattened in the process.
Two occupants in the Nissan were taken to the hospital, though the officer didn’t believe they had incapacitating injuries.
The driver of the Ford was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
