Lamesa Man Killed in Crash in Martin County

 

MARTIN COUNTY, TX – A Lamesa man died early Saturday morning following a crash involving a passenger car and a semi-truck on State Highway 349, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The collision occurred around 4:20 a.m. when a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Aaraon Contreras, was traveling north and failed to control its speed. The car struck the trailer of a 2000 Volvo truck tractor, which was also heading north.

Contreras was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by DPS.
