Crash at Southland and Sherwood Involved Two Pickup Trucks, Trailers

SAN ANGELO, TX – A two-vehicle crash Monday at Southland Boulevard and Sherwood Way involved two pickup trucks hauling trailers, according to San Angelo police.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. An officer with the SAPD traffic unit said a white Ford pickup was heading east on Sherwood Way and attempted to turn left onto FM 2288. A black Chevrolet pickup, which was traveling westbound on Sherwood Way with a trailer, struck the Ford as it turned.

Both vehicles had two occupants each. The driver of the black Chevrolet sustained minor injuries but was treated and released at the scene. No one was taken to the hospital.

Police said the driver of the white Ford was cited for failure to yield the right of way while turning left. Witnesses told police the black Chevrolet had a green light at the time of the crash.

The trailer being hauled by the Ford detached in the intersection and traveled about half a block down Sherwood Way after the crash. Officers believe the trailer may have also struck the Chevrolet.
