18-Wheeler Clips Blazer, Causing Rollover on Houston Harte

SAN ANGELO, TX – A crash involving a Chevy Blazer and an 18-wheeler sent one person to the hospital Monday afternoon on the westbound side of East Houston Harte Expressway near the North Bell Street bridge.

The San Angelo Police Department issued a Nixle alert at 3:22 p.m. advising drivers to avoid the 1400 block of the expressway westbound because of the crash.

A traffic officer with the SAPD said the 18-wheeler clipped the Blazer while changing lanes, causing the SUV to spin out and flip multiple times.

The Blazer’s driver, who was the only occupant, was extricated and taken to the hospital. The driver was conscious and coherent when removed, but their condition is unknown.

The truck driver was not injured and was cited for an unsafe lane change.
