Driver Causes Crash After Discovering Koenigheim Is One-Way, Police Say

SAN ANGELO, TX — A two-vehicle crash occurred Tuesday at the intersection of South Koenigheim Street and West Beauregard Avenue after a driver attempted a wrong-way turn, the police said.

At around 1:30 p.m., San Angelo police said both vehicles—a Nissan Versa and a Ford F-150—were traveling eastbound on West Beauregard when the Versa driver began turning right onto South Koenigheim but realized the street was one-way in the opposite direction. The driver then attempted to steer back into traffic, causing the pickup to collide with the Versa.

Each vehicle was occupied by two people. No major injuries were reported, and all occupants refused medical transport at the scene.

The Ford F-150 sustained front-end damage but was expected to be drivable after minor repairs. Police said the crash was initially dispatched as a major incident due to a report of possible injuries, but the situation was later classified as minor.

A citation for driving the wrong way is anticipated, the police said.
