3 Hospitalized After Sunday Crash in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX — Three people were hospitalized Sunday after a Jeep ran a stop sign and collided with a Cadillac at the intersection of West 19th Street and North Irving Street, police said.

The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Police said the Jeep disregarded a stop sign and struck the Cadillac, causing the Cadillac to hit a utility pole.

Two people in the Cadillac were taken to the hospital by ambulance, one with chest pain and the other with a head abrasion, according to police. The driver of the Jeep left the scene in a private vehicle to seek medical care for leg pain.

A citation was issued to the Jeep driver for disregarding a stop sign, police said. Of the four occupants in the Jeep, no other injuries were reported.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Crews conducted a brief cleanup due to fluid leaks from the Jeep, and the Cadillac sustained significant damage, including the loss of a wheel.
