Truck Accident Shuts Down River Crossing Road in Dove Creek

DOVE CREEK, TX — A truck hauling sod veered off a rural low-water crossing Friday afternoon, prompting authorities to close the lanes on River Crossing Road in Dove Creek, according to the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident, described as a minor traffic accident, was reported at about 2:15 p.m. A sheriff’s office alert warned drivers to expect delays and to find alternate routes.

A photo from the scene shows the truck’s trailer partially submerged in the water crossing.

Responsive action should be taken within the next hour or so, the alert states.
