One Dead in High-Speed Crash That Shut Down Highway 158 Outside Midland

 

MIDLAND, TX — A high-speed crash on Monday morning resulted in one fatality and the complete shutdown of a section of State Highway 158, according to the Midland Fire Department.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at about 11:50 a.m. in the 8500 block of the highway. By 12:25 p.m., officials confirmed the roadway was fully closed to traffic.

Details about the victim and circumstances surrounding the crash have not yet been released. The investigation is ongoing.

The section of the highway shut down is between Midland and Garden City.
