SAN ANGELO, TX — Rush hour on Knickerbocker got a little more colorful Tuesday evening when a Hyundai Tucson launched itself into traffic and turned two imported sedans into uninvited lawn decorations.
It happened in front of the Snack and Tackle, where the SUV's driver was trying to pull out. According to police, his foot “slipped off the brake,” sending the Hyundai into oncoming traffic. One unlucky sedan slammed into the Tucson and ricocheted into another, pushing both vehicles off the road and onto nearby yards.
The sedans came to a rest looking like someone parked them there on purpose—on pristine, freshly cut grass.
The SUV driver was apologetic, and police believed him. No citations were issued. The sedans were towed, but the Tucson drove away with just a bruised ego. No one was hurt, and police say drugs and alcohol were not involved—just a classic case of rush-hour misfortune.
Moral of the story: check your foot before you wreck your neighbor’s landscaping.
