CARLSBAD, TX — A southbound sedan veered off U.S. Highway 87 Saturday and crashed into the corner fence of Star Ranch at the intersection of Carlsbad Loop.
The driver, who appeared to be the sole occupant, was trapped inside the wreckage until first responders arrived. San Angelo Fire Department medics extricated the man, loaded him onto a gurney, and transported him to Shannon Medical Center.
The vehicle came to a rest beneath a roadside sign that read, “Jesus Saves,” with a smaller message below it: “Read the Bible.” The crash happened at around 11 p.m. on Friday night, April 11, 2025.
