Crash Outside Midland Leaves Two Critically Injured

MIDLAND, TX — A high-speed crash on the eastbound service road of State Highway 191 resulted in serious injuries Wednesday night, according to the Midland Police Department.

First responders were called to the 12300 block of SH 191 at around 8:30 p.m. for a collision involving a 2022 Ram 2500 and a second, unidentified vehicle. Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction when the second vehicle struck the back right side of the Ram at a high rate of speed, police said.

The impact forced the Ram through a cable barrier and into the main lanes of the highway. The second vehicle continued traveling eastbound, left the roadway, broke through a barbed wire fence, and came to rest in a nearby caliche lot, investigators said.

The 44-year-old male driver of the Ram was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The 24-year-old male driver of the second vehicle was listed in critical condition early Thursday morning. A 23-year-old male passenger in the second vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police said further updates will be released as more information becomes available.
