Car Crashes Into San Angelo Convenience Store

SAN ANGELO, TX — A car crashed into a convenience store Friday afternoon after a man reportedly suffered a medical emergency.

The crash occurred about 1 p.m. when the car struck the front of United Express, 3131 Sunset Drive.

No one was injured, and there didn’t appear to be serious damage to the vehicle, but the store had a large window broken from the impact.

According to a traffic officer with the San Angelo Police Department, the car ran out of gas in the parking lot, and a store employee was helping push the vehicle to the fuel pumps.

However, the driver of the vehicle, a 45-year-old man, apparently suffered a medical emergency at that moment, and he was unable to push the brakes before the car crashed into the building.

The man was released to family members after the crash, the officer stated.

The convenience store is located in the parking lot of the Market Street grocery store. It is currently closed due to the crash.

A spokesperson for United Express declined comment.
