Man Found Dead Near Train Tracks in Abilene

 

ABILENE, TX – A 58-year-old man was found dead near train tracks in Abilene on Monday night, according to the Abilene Police Department.

Union Pacific personnel reported an object near the tracks around 9 p.m. on March 24, prompting a police response to the area near the Grape Street and Butternut Street underpass. Officers located the deceased man near the tracks.

Police said the man has been identified, but his name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The cause of death has not been determined.

The man was listed as a transient in law enforcement records, and the investigation is ongoing.
