WATCH: Single-Vehicle Rollover on Houston Harte

 

SAN ANGELO, TX— A driver avoided serious injury after he lost control of his vehicle on Houston Harte on Friday afternoon.

Around 4:40 p.m., a major crash was called near the 5000 block of Houston Harte.

According to San Angelo police, law enforcement and other San Angelo first responders were dispatched to 5000 block of West Houston Harte due to a major crash.

A silver Nissan Armada was traveling westbound and was involved in a single-vehicle crash.

The driver stated he was passing another vehicle when he lost control. He ended up leaving the roadway, crashed into a speed limit sign, and rolled multiple times once off the roadway.

San Angelo police stated the driver was the only occupant inside the vehicle. The San Angelo Fire Department was on scene first and checked the driver, who refused transport to the hospital despite suffering minor injuries.

The driver was cited for failure to control speed.

The San Angelo Police Department did issue a Nixle alert to inform the public that Houston Harte was shut down to one lane and to drive with caution when driving in the area of the crash.
