Monahans Man Dies in Multi-Vehicle Crash on US 285

REEVES COUNTY, TX – A Monahans man was killed in a multi-car pileup on US 285 near mile marker 364 on Friday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Authorities identified the victim as 41-year-old Greg Edward Sanchez, who was driving a 2011 Toyota Tundra southbound when it collided with the rear of a 2003 Peterbilt tractor-trailer. Sanchez was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Peterbilt was not injured.

DPS stated that visibility was reduced at the time of the crash, which contributed to the multi-vehicle crash. The incident is still under investigation, and no further details have been released.
