Tragic RV Fire Claims One Life in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX – A deadly fire in the early hours of Friday claimed the life of one person in a recreational vehicle at 2504 N. Bell St., according to the San Angelo Fire Marshal’s Office.

Preliminary investigations suggest a space heater may have contributed to the blaze. Officials are working to confirm the exact cause while urging residents to exercise caution when using heating devices in enclosed spaces.

“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time,” Fire Marshal Billy Clemons said. “We urge everyone to follow safety guidelines to prevent similar tragedies.”

The Fire Marshal’s Office issued safety tips for operating space heaters:

  • Use space heaters as instructed by the manufacturer.
  • Ensure heaters have automatic shut-off features.
  • Keep heaters at least three feet away from flammable materials.
  • Never leave heaters unattended.

The incident remains under investigation, and additional details will be released as they become available.
