Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash Near Sonora

SONORA, TX - A 54-year-old Montgomery woman was killed Friday morning in a single-vehicle crash west of Sonora, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Kimberly Ann Dove was driving a 2007 Honda Accord westbound on Interstate 10 near mile marker 394 when the car entered the center median for unknown reasons, DPS officials stated. The vehicle over-corrected back onto the roadway, causing a side skid that sent it off the road and into a tree on the driver’s side.

This happened shortly after 11:30 a.m., about six miles west of Sonora. Dove was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Sutton County Justice of the Peace.

Weather conditions were clear, and the roads were dry at the time of the crash.

The investigation was conducted by Texas Highway Patrol Trooper D. Young, with assistance from the Sutton County Sheriff’s Office, Sonora Fire Department, and Sonora EMS.
