Trash Pit Fire Rekindles Near Highway 87 South, Prompting Multi-Agency Response

 

WALL, TX - A rekindled trash pit fire near Highway 87 South prompted a coordinated response from the Wall and Mereta Volunteer Fire Departments on Tuesday night, according to Wall VFD. 

This happened a little before 9 p.m. Both departments worked to ensure the fire was fully contained and prevented from spreading. Units from the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.

"Wall VFD is proud to serve the community by providing professional emergency services," Wall VFD stated. 

Assigned units included Mereta 50 and 51, as well as Wall 102, 104, 106, 107, and 150. 

No injuries or significant damage were reported.
